JOHN MARK LAPHAM

I am an award-winning animator, editor, graphic designer and audio producer with 15+ years combined experience. I’ve created audio and visuals for feature films, music videos, commercials, podcasts, social media, radio and more. Projects have included working on Richard Linklater’s Netflix film. Apollo 10 1/2, a short feature for the film Black Phone 2 (starring Ethan Hawke), and animations for Emmy Award-winning director Keith Maitland on his documentary Dear Mr. Brody. I bring exceptional technical skills and a discerning artist’s eye to my work, creating compelling stories with a diverse array of techniques.

CREATIVE PHILOSOPHY

“Making order out of chaos is what I do best. I’m happiest staring at hours of raw material, be it audio, video or text, and editing it down so that it tells a concise story or creates a mood. One of my strengths is attaching myself to the project at hand and bonding with it until the work is done. Even after the computer has been shut down and I’ve removed myself from the work environment, my projects are never far from my mind. Oftentimes solutions—or my best ideas—come to me in these “off-peak hours.”
